Practice, Practice, Practice…
Today Nathan and I headed out to Credit Union Center so I could practice panning with his car. It was a lot harder to do by hand and I can see it’s going to take me some serious practice to keep the camera level and my subject in focus while tracking it. Here is what I managed to get:
Also we noticed quite a few stray golf balls in the lot and we happened to be quite a ways from the nearest course or driving range…
Things I’d like to do this year in photography. – Part 1.
There are a hundred things I’d like to do this year for life in general but I only have a handful of things I’d like to do in photography this year. Some of these items may come off as easy or not very original but they are things I have yet to play around with and give a little of my own style. So here is post 1 in my 5 post series of things I’d like to do in photography this year:
Automotive Photography:
Whether it be planes, trains, or automobiles I would like to try out a number of tools and techniques used in this area of photography such as camera rigs and panning to capture some serious movement within the frame and learn to work with the challenges in composition that come with it. This one was really inspired by the Transport and Motorsport forums over at Photography-on-the.net and Flickr shooters like James Evins who’s taken some stunning auto shots of quite a few different makes and models.
I’m always looking for tips, suggestions, and war stories so if you have any related to todays post feel free to share them in the comments!
