Here are the details:

• We found it at the edge of the South Saskatchewan River just on the outskirts of Saskatoon, SK, Canada resting along side a rock.
• It seems to be a clumsy swimmer but did seem to be quite at home in the shallow water.
• For size it’s comparable to a female adult pinky finger maybe a little smaller.  (see photo below)
• It looks like an insect based on its anatomy and features but we could be wrong.
• Didn’t seem to be an aggressive critter as Amanda was able to pick it up and it explored her hand without any bites or defensive action.
